Derek Schwartz
Managing Director, National Sales Manager
Derek Schwartz is the National Sales Manager and a Managing Director for CION Securities. Since joining CION in 2009, he has been instrumental in developing the firm’s distribution platform of alternative products tailored for individual investors. Derek played a crucial role in the collaboration between CION and Apollo Global Management to launch CION Investment Company (CIC), which successfully listed on the NYSE in 2021. He also led the distribution efforts for the CION Ares Diversified Credit Fund in partnership with Ares Management in 2017.
An influential voice in the finance sector, Derek hosts “Advisor Lab by CION,” a podcast for financial advisors. The podcast was named a “Top 10 Podcast for Financial Advisors” by U.S. News & World Report in 2022.
Previously, Derek served as Vice President for the Mid-Atlantic region. His experience includes roles at Legg Mason, Solomon Brothers, and Merrill Lynch.
A graduate of Syracuse University, Derek resides near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, with his family.
